The gardens will open for the season on Saturday 6th April Open Daily 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Dunskey Rhododendrons Come and enjoy welcoming walled garden and woodland Snowdrop walks. There are 43 named varieties including: Galanthus ‘Dunskey Talia’, Galanthus’Fred’s Giant’, Galanthus’Robin Hood’,Galanthus ‘Sickle’. Gardener lead strolls – 2p.m each Sunday. Tearoom with warming soups and teas. We have the following plants: Vibrant autumn colour from late flowering perennials such as Plox, Crocosmia, Inula,Hydragea. Acca, Eucryphia and Magnolia along with the colorful foliage of Cercidiphyllum and Vitis. Ripening fruit such as apples, pears and grapes while in the glasshouses the Hedychiums are at their best. Some of the plants you can see visiting Dunskey Gardens in August: Phlox paniculata cultivars, Eucryphia nyamensis, Acca sellowiana, Hedychium species and cultivars, Hemerocallis cultivars, Lythrum salicaria. Windy and wet weather meant that conditions were less than perfect. This resulted in a realatively small number of moths caught in traps. However the following species were collected aong with crane flies, caddis flies and some un-identified micro-moths. Hardy Geranium species & cultivars. Display of half hardy & tender perennials. Astrantia ‘Roma’, Crinodendron hookerianum, Clemantis ‘Broughton Star’, Buddleja colvilei ‘Kewensis’, Magnolia sieboldiana, Pelargonium, Lilium and Abutilon species and cultivars.
