Operations Manager

Dunskey Estate is a private venue, alongside a prestigious portfolio of lodges, within a 2000-acre estate by the sea. We are extremely proud to create the most bespoke and unforgettable celebrations for our guests in a stunning setting. Who we are: Dunskey is progressive, unique, feministic, and compassionate. We host film and art productions, corporate retreats, milestone celebrations, weddings, and many other events, and would like to provide experiences that imprint indelible marks on our guests. The Castle offers 5* accommodations with unique styling throughout. We have 25 bedrooms, yoga room and movie theatre, fire pit, mobile BBQ, alongside eight boutique lodges, and will be adding significantly to the property and the brand. We want to become industry leaders in what we can achieve at Dunskey for both our guests and our team.
We are highly tech-driven, and would require that our operations manager is entirely comfortable with app-based technology, Google Suites (especially Google Sheets), and Customer Relationship Management software.
We care deeply about work-life balance, and therefore our model is for private events. This allows us to see all bookings a year in advance, and we can balance workload throughout the year to prevent burn-out. We regularly block off time even during the peak season so our team can have a break.
Who you are: Your core strength is your unparalleled organizational and management skills to deliver the ultimate Dunskey experience to guests. Above all, you love finding exceptional ways to motivate each team member, care about seeking their feedback and solutions, improve trust, accountability and transparency within the company. Your logistical skills are awe-inspiring, and you are able to anticipate all aspects of the guest’s journey, to organize the attendant details to execute a flawless event.
Few things are more satisfying to you than organizing systems, from inventory to scheduling and lodge management. Most importantly, you are committed to using paperless systems and can harness the power of technology to your management.
You have had at least five years of management experience in hospitality, and you are eager to implement your signature “best practices” at Dunskey. You are completely comfortable with a five-star front-of-house service, alongside the high-end standards that must be adhered to, from a quirky Dunskey Olympics to an evening service.
You love the countryside, you work very hard, but you also have other passions to pursue, and you are looking for the perfect place with supportive, energetic, and visionary owners to work alongside. You are ready to commit to the dream job for the very long foreseeable future.
Finally, you are also a progressive, deeply principled and intelligent person who rejoices in excellence and yearn to be the best in the industry. You are motivated to pursue a senior management role in a company, and are ready to show your best self. You do not tolerate gendered, sexist, elitist nonsense, as we are extremely allergic to all that as well.
Compensation: starts at 25K gbp PLUS fantastic accommodation, bonus and equity participation. We will offer a significantly higher salary package depending on qualification and experience.
