We carry out a deep cleaning process for allergen removal for every booking with pets. The cost is 60gbp / stay for up to two pets. This is added to your guest bill that is sent to you upon departure.

Fawn's Velvet Lodge Availability

*This fee includes the welcome hamper, which contains bread, baked goods, eggs, coffee, tea, milk, butter, artisan cheese, jam and marmalade. A selection of ready-to-eat meals are also available for you from our professional kitchen. Most of these items are made by our professional chefs. The fee also includes laundry, linen, unlimited logs, and complimentary use of the boat on our loch.

The lodge is located on a truly vast estate that is only open to guests and residents. This includes the maze, walled garden, two lochs, two beaches, meadows and endless woodland. As such, the grounds maintenance and landscaping is significantly more extensive than an apartment unit in a suburb.

Finally, we are located in an exceptionally impoverished, low-skill, and rural area. From our regular market research, we understand that our compensation for our team here is well above the wages in Edinburgh in similar job. We are committed to generous renumeration in order to attract and retain the necessary (but typically rare) talents in this unbelievably small population.

*Dunskey Estate currently accepts a minimum three-night stay throughout the year, with flexible check-in and check-out dates. During Christmas and New Year 2023, we have a seven-night minimum stay, with check-in and check-out dates as Wednesday December 20th, Wednesday December 7th, and Wednesday January 3rd.
